We will identify and point out your inadequate insulation, moisture damage that can cause mold, and find where your air-conditioned cool air or heat is escaping. An easy to understand report will be given you, so you tackle your problem area at your own pace. Either do-it-yourself or have your own trusted contractor help you out. If you want, we will come back to make sure the job was done right! You'll be surprised how little you have to spend to be more comfortable and energy efficient!
Greenway Energy Audits is an inspection and consulting service. We do not perform repairs or act as a home improvement contractor.
What is an Energy Audit?
The purpose of an energy audit is to analyze the energy flows in a building, and understand the energy dynamics. During the energy audit, you seek opportunities to reduce the amount of energy input into the building without negatively affecting the output(s). Beyond simply identifying the sources of energy use, Greenway Energy Audits seeks to prioritize the energy uses according to the greatest to least cost effective opportunities for energy savings.
So what is Infrared Thermography and what can it do for you?
Thermography makes it possible to see one's environment with or without visible illumination. The amount of radiation emitted by an object increases with temperature; therefore, thermography allows one to see variations in temperature. When viewed through a thermal imaging camera, warm objects stand out well against cooler backgrounds. Heat loss detected in one area of the outside wall might originate at some other location on the inside of the wall. Warm or cold air doesn't escape the building in a straight line.
After we have completed your inspection, Greenway Energy Audits use calculators within worksheets to determine cost savings that can be realized by making changes to the existing building such as switching standard bulbs to CFL, replacing insulation, sealing ductwork and many ways, large and small that will cut your energy bill up to 40%. Finally, we present the building owner or occupant with our findings and the recommendations we feel will save them the most money each month. The final report is easy to understand, and is a record so you can refer back to the findings repeatedly. The most direct and inexpensive route for homeowners to reduce wasted energy in their homes is to have an Energy Audit. The primary purpose of a home energy audit is to evaluate the homes energy consumption and make recommendations to eliminate wasted energy and lower monthly energy costs.
